4.1 Introduction
This chapter explains how to use and display non-radar information that may
beavailablefromotherunitsconnectedtoyoursystem.Italsoexplainshowto
usetheman overboard (MOB) function.You can use thischapterwiththe
radar display set to simulatormode,oronthewaterafteryouhaveinstalled
andset up your PathfinderRadar system.
Inorderto usethesefunctions,you needthe followingadditionaldatafrom
equipmentconnectedto your system viaa SeaTalk,NMEA or

Note:Untilyouarefamiliarwithinterpretingtheradardisplay,youshouldtake
everyopportunitytocomparethe radar’sdisplay patternswithvisual targets,
suchas othervessels,buoysand coastalstructures.You shouldpracticehar-
bourand coastalnavigationduringdaylightand in clearweatherconditions.
