MARPA Set Up
Parameters
7.5 MARPA Set Up Parameters
TheMARPA setup menu providesoptionsto specifythe target vectors,safe
zoneand targethistorydisplay.
Thefollowingtablelists theMARPASet Up parametersand theiroptions,
showsthefactorydefaultsetting,andprovidesa spaceforyou tomake a note
ofyournew defaultsetting.Each parameterisdescribedinthefollowing
subsections.
Target Vector and Predicted Position
Thetarget vectorcan be Trueor Relative.True indicatesthe target’s true
courseandspeedoverground.IfTruevectorsareselected,thevessel’svector
isalso shown. ARelativevectorindicatesthe target’scourseand speed
relative toyour vessel.
Thelengthof thevectoris determinedby the targetpredictedpositionaftera
settime interval.
Safe Zone
Thesafezone optionsare used to setthedangeroustarget alarm limits.
Thesafezone isa ring,centredon yourvessel, withinwhich a targetis
considered dangerous.A target can alsobeconsidereddangerouswhen itis
withina specifiedtime of the safe zone.You can switchthe safe zoneon/off.
Whenthe zoneis on anda target isacquired,the safe zone ringis displayed.
Target History
Targethistorycanbesetto plot the targets’ previouspositionatspecified
intervals. The four most recentposition pointsare displayed.If True target
vectorsareselected, then the fourmostrecent vesselposition points arealso
displayed.
