Nearest
Youcanobtaininformationfor the eight nearestwaypoints,port services,
ports,tidestations, wrecksor obstructions for aselectedposition.The
chartplotteralsoprovidesoptionsto redrawthechartwithaselecteditemat
thecentre,Gotoawaypointand displayalistof alltheport on the chartcard.
➤ To obtain theinformationforthe nearestobjects:
1. Movethecursorto the requiredpositionthenpressENTER to display the
objectinformationpop-up.
2. Pressthe NEAREST softkey. The Find Nearestpop-uplist is displayed.
Usethetrackpadtohighlighttherequired object,thenpress ENTER.
i. Forportservicestheport servicesymbolsare displayed,usethe track-
pad to highlighttherequiredservice,thenpressENTER.
Ifyouselecta port then pressENTER,detailedinformationfor theser-
viceat that port isdisplayed.Typicalportdatais shown in Figure 5-4.

ii. Forallotheritems,theeightnearestobjectsarelistedwithdistanceand
bearing.
SoftkeysprovideyouwithoptionstoEXPAND port,wreckandobstruc-
tionsdata;viewaFULL LIST of portsdetailedonthechartcard;SHOW
TIDE data;GOTO a waypointand FIND the object(redrawthe chartwith
theobjectatthecentre).Use the trackpadto highlightan object, then
pressthe requiredsoftkey.
3. To returnto the defaultdisplay, pressCLEAR toback-trackthroughthe
pop-uplists.
